The YMCA is a Charity and Open to AllAt the YMCA, we believe that everyone should be able to participate in recreation programs like those offered by the YMCA, regardless of their ability to pay the fees. That’s because the YMCA is open to everyone – all ages, backgrounds, abilities and financial circumstances. Share the Treasure — John Island Capital CampaignEveryone who has experienced JIC knows the positive impact it can have on young lives. Of course campers are there to have fun and make friends. What they don’t realize until much later is how much they learned about themselves and what they are capable of accomplishing when challenged. Immersed in an extraordinarily beautiful, natural setting, it’s also easy to forget how much they learn about the world around them. Having benefited from this unique opportunity in years past, it is to you we must now turn for support. Help us sustain and improve the JIC experience… not only for your own children or grandchildren but for thousands of others… many of whom will receive financial assistance to make the journey to John Island possible. The dollars raised in the “Share the Treasure” campaign will be used to renovate and replace the buildings and facilities at John Island over the next five years. Many camper cabins built in the 50’s will be replaced or renovated. More efficient and private toilets and showers will be constructed. The dining hall and kitchen will be renovated to provide a brighter, fresher interior. When we’re done, John Island will be ready for another 50 years of magic. For more information click here. |
