Youth Gambling Awarness Program
In collaboration with the YMCA of Greater Toronto and funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion, this program aims to implement prevention and educational strategies in order to reduce the potential harm associated with gambling and gaming in youth between the ages of 8-24. Presentations are free and also available in French!
Why Talk About Gambling?
- Youth today are the first generation to grow up in a society where gambling is legalized, normalized, glamourized, easily accessible and actively promoted.
- Youth in Canada are reporting significantly higher rates of problem gambling than adults
- Gambling patterns are established as early as 8 years of age and can be in place before an adolescent reaches high school.
