Treadmill Runners/walkers: Walking on the treadmill is ok, running on the treadmill is ok. Walking while hanging on to the treadmill defeats the purpose of using the machine to its highest potential to helping out the user.
If you use the treadmill and are on an incline and require to hang on the handle bars that setting is not for you to use, build up your ability to walk/run on the treadmill without hanging on to it. If you think about it would you really walk up a hill with your hands outstretched in front of you, or would you swing your hands back and forth to help keep you balance as you walk up an inclined surface.
